I believe one of the gifts we can give ourselves this year and for Valentine's Day is the gift of love. People are especially too hard on themselves.  We judge ourselves, compare ourselves to others, put ourselves down, speak of our imperfections as if they are obvious to others and criticize every foolish and unthinkable act. 

If we don't look like a sports model or movie actress, we think we are ugly.  Everyone is beautiful, no matter the size and length of your skinny or not so skinny legs.  We are all created in the image of God and God loves us.  If He can love us despite our imperfections, then how much more should we love ourselves?

Try going a day without the guilt of an imperfect diet.  If you think it will make you fat, it just might, but what if?  What if every time you ate something you didn't think was good for you, you just loved yourself?  If your body receives love, then maybe you will stop sabotaging it through unhealthy food......just a thought. 

Love heals. 
When we love ourselves, we can love others. 
Love is a step upwards.
Make your year, a year of love!
